Garlic Broccoli

Ingredients and Tools

  • Broccoli 1 head
  • Garlic 3-4 cloves
  • Light soy sauce
  • Oyster sauce
  • Sugar

Measurements

  • Broccoli about 200 g (about 1/2 a medium head of broccoli)
  • Garlic 3-4 cloves
  • Light soy sauce 10 ml
  • Oyster sauce 5 ml
  • Sugar 2 g

Steps

  • Cut the broccoli into small florets and wash clean.
  • Peel the garlic and mince it. Set aside.
  • Add 1000 ml drinking water to a pot and bring to a boil over high heat.
  • Add the broccoli and keep on high heat for 2-3 minutes, until the broccoli turns bright green and becomes tender.
  • Remove the cooked broccoli, drain well, arrange on a plate, and set aside.
  • Heat the pan and add 10 ml cooking oil. When the oil is hot, add the minced garlic and stir-fry over low heat until fragrant.
  • Add 10 ml light soy sauce, 5 ml oyster sauce, 2 g sugar, and 30 ml drinking water.
  • Bring the sauce to a boil.
  • Evenly pour the cooked garlic sauce over the broccoli on the plate.

Notes

  • Do not blanch for longer than the recommended time to avoid affecting the broccoli’s texture and nutrition.
