Cooked Pot Steamed Rice

Ingredients and Tools

  • Northern rice
  • Water
  • Thick-bottomed pot + tight-fitting lid (no significant steam leakage during cooking)

Measurements

  • Rice: 100ml-200ml/person
  • Water: 2 times the volume of rice

Steps

  • Rinse the rice
  • Add rice and water to the pot
  • Bring to a boil over high heat
  • Stir the bottom to prevent sticking
  • Cover with the lid and reduce to low heat for 10-15 minutes (depending on desired softness), do not open the lid during cooking
  • Turn off the heat and let rest for 5 minutes
  • Enjoy :)
