Pan-Fried Dumplings

Difficulty ★★Updated 1/25/2026

Ingredients and Tools

  • Dumplings (frozen boiled dumplings)
  • Sesame seeds, scallions (cut into segments) or other toppings

Measurements

  • 1 bag of dumplings (choose based on appetite, about 10 - 15 pieces)

Steps

  • Take out a frying pan (a nonstick pan is best)
  • Add 10ml - 15 ml cooking oil
  • Turn on the heat and add the dumplings (spread them as evenly as possible; do not stack)
  • Immediately add water; the water level should cover 1/2 of the dumplings’ average height
  • Cover with a lid (the stove should be on high heat at this time)
  • Wait 8 - 10 minutes
  • When only 2mm of water remains in the pan, switch to medium heat and start frying
  • After all the water has evaporated, shake the pan to heat the dumplings evenly
  • Add black sesame seeds and scallions, then cover for 10s
  • After 1 - 2 minutes, take out one dumpling to check the bottom; if a golden crispy crust appears, remove them immediately

Notes

  • During cooking, keep watching the pan at all times; do not get distracted by your phone. If you follow this guide and find any issues or improvements, please submit an Issue or Pull request.
